英国著名摄影大师Duncan Wooldridge说,每次摄影都将是一场伟大的实验(Photography is an experiment)。
通过一次次不同的实验,人们才能创造出每一幅不一样的伟大作品。而Duncan教授就是遵循这样的理念,将自己实验性摄影进行到底。
12月,Duncan教授将来到南广学院,开展为期7天的摄影工作坊。在本次工作坊中,学员们将会完成多种创作任务,并且在结束时,展示自己成熟的实体作品。
Duncan Wooldridge是英国伦敦艺术大学坎伯威尔艺术学院摄影专业学科带头人,同时也是英国著名的摄影艺术家和作家。Duncan Wooldridge教授定期为艺术与摄影等杂志撰写文章。他曾经筹办过多场摄影展,包括Anti-Photography' (2011, Focal Point Gallery), 'John Hilliard: Not Black and White' (2014, Richard Saltoun Gallery, and Ridinghouse Publishing), and 'Moving The Image: Photography and Its Actions.

在Duncan教授眼中,照相机可以是扫描仪,也可以是打印机,通过一次次的实验性摄影尝试,能够发现相机的不同使用方法。在光与影的转换之间,他用镜头记录了自己的所见所闻,同时通过镜头表达了独特的想法。

Day1:Introduction&Experimental Exercises
Morning:
Introductory lecture and artists talk. Introduction to the Workshop
Afternoon:
20 minute project: collect as many physical photographs as possible in 20 minutes. Followed by review, layout and discussion in Studio/Classroom. 20 minute project: Seeing Through The Camera; observe, and then walk and conduct everyday activities whilst looking through the camera viewfinder. Discussion
Day 2: Alternative Approach-2 Dimensions
Morning:
Workshop:Lumen Photography. Making unfixed photograms using light sensitive paper, without photographic chemistry. Images made by light and heat.
Afternoon:
Workshop:Scanner as Camera. Using flatbed scanners, on 10-20 metre cables, to make photographs. Images made by movement, physical and mechanical.
Day 3: Alternative Approaches-3 and 4 Dimensions
Morning:
Workshop:The Photograph as an Object. Turning photographic prints into an active object, through folding, cutting, shaping.
Afternoon:
Workshop: A Moving Image: Taking a photograph outside to find a place, as a gift, as an installation, as a sculpture.
Day 4: Beginning Individual Project
Morning:
Introducing the exhibition project brief: Experiments with Photography. Small individual or group conversations with students to discuss ideas.
Afternoon:
Independent project development
Day 5:Developing Ideas Further
Morning and Afternoon:
Individual Tutorials with Students. Students to Continue Producing Work/Testing Ideas. Visit to Exhibition Space.
Day 6:Refinement of Project
Morning and Afternoon:
Fine Printing, Mounting, Framing, etc.
Day 7:Exhibition
Morning:
Students Bring Work to Exhibition Space. Installation of Exhibition Begins.
Afternoon:
Exhibition Opening, and Student Presentations of Exhibition Work.
